The RD 500 system by Bosch Rexroth is a universal three-phase drive system for various synchronous and induction motors. It has a modular hardware and software design that allows the drive system to be flexibly adapted for drive applications. They can be used for chemical and process technology, machine tools, hoist and conveyor technology, handling and assembly systems, and packing and foodstuff materials.
The RD51.1-4B-001-L-FV-FW is a converter with an in-built brake chopper. It is equipped with a start inhibitor function that meets the “Protection against accidental starting requirement,” according to EN 60 204-1 preventing it from accidental starting and preventing bodily harm. It also meets the Protective Extra Low Voltages requirement to protect against extra-low voltages. It is specifically used in ventilators, pump drives, conveyor belts, centrifuges, agitators, and grinding machines. Its protection class is IP 20 according to EN 60529, which means that the drive system is protected against dust and objects over 12mm in size; it is touch-proof but not protected against water jets from any direction.
Designed for mounting in cabinets, the RD51.1-4B-001-L-FV-FW is cooled by forced air cooling. Its operation should be at an ambient temperature of 40°C, relative humidity of 95%, and setup elevation of 1000m above sea level. It functions with a removable user panel, the RDwin PC user interface, and several other interfaces that operate, monitor, and parameterize it. The interfaces available are Interbus S remote bus, Profibus DP slave, CAN open, and Peer-to-Peer coupling with fiber-optic cable. The removable user panel has a four-line graphic display which aids in the operation of the drive. It also supports firmware which is ordered as a separate subitem. This product can be shipped globally with a one year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
