The RD43.1-4R-185-F-NN-FW is an advanced industrial drive controller produced by Rexroth Indramat to control the speed, acceleration, and general operation of servo motors used in industrial production systems. The drive controller is manufactured according to the IP20 protection class; thus, it is completely protected from the interference of large solid materials with a diameter higher than 50 millimeters. This drive controller also contains a control panel which is made up of a four-line display unit through which operators can monitor the operational status of the controller; the control panel also contains about six pressure-sensitive keys through which commands can be sent into the housing of the controller. This drive controller is vulnerable to small solid particles and liquid substances; thus, for optimum protection, it should be installed in an additional control cabinet that meets at least the IP54 protection class.
The RD43.1-4R-185-F-NN-FW industrial drive controller contains an internal fan and heatsinks that regulate the internal temperature of the controller via forced ventilation; the controller also contains a liquid circulation system that aids temperature regulation in the housing of the controller. This controller can be integrated with different master communication interfaces such as the SERCOS, CANopen, Profibus, and interbus S communication interface. The drive controller is also not supplied with a firmware module; this has to be ordered by the industrial operator as a separate sub-unit.
The permissible ambient temperature at which this drive controller can be operated falls between 0 to about 45 degrees Celsius; it is important to maintain this temperature range as the operation of the controller at a higher ambient temperature can cause it to heat up at a rate that can not be matched by its temperature regulation system.
