The RD43.1-3R-185-W-NN-FW is a high-capacity AC drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and supplied within the RD 500 Drive Controllers series. In an automation cell, this unit governs the torque, speed, and position of large induction or synchronous motors by modulating the output of the connected power converter during industrial motion and process-control tasks. Because it combines control, diagnostics, and fieldbus interfaces in one housing, it serves as the central regulator that links motion axes to a PLC without separate phase-angle controllers. This integrated layout keeps drive-related control and monitoring functions in one unit instead of distributing them across separate auxiliary modules.

Its thermal management relies on liquid cooling, so heat from the power section is removed through a closed coolant circuit rather than cabinet airflow. Continuous output from the inverter stage is rated at 185 kW, giving it capacity for heavy-duty pumps, extruders, or test stands. The housing carries an IP20 rating, which means the cabinet must provide additional protection against dust and water.
