The RD41.1-6B-025-L is a drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RD 500 Drive Controllers series. It modulates power between the mains and connected induction or synchronous motors, coordinating speed and torque commands issued by a higher-level PLC. In this role, the unit supports repeatable acceleration, controlled braking, and steady-state motion in packaging lines, material handling stations, and other automated equipment. The compact housing of the RD41.1-6B-025-L mounts inside a control cabinet and provides terminals for power, braking, and control wiring.

It accepts a line supply of 3-phase AC 400 V ±15%, allowing operation in facilities where voltage stability can vary within the stated tolerance. The power section converts that input into a regulated DC bus and supports motor power up to 25 kW. To sustain this level, the internal link is rated for 50 A of continuous DC-link current so component temperature rise stays within normal operating limits. A built-in brake chopper is provided; together with an external resistor, it diverts regenerative energy during rapid deceleration and helps prevent overvoltage on the DC bus. The minimum permissible resistor value is 7.5 Ω, which protects the chopper transistor against excessive current while still absorbing kinetic energy efficiently. An integrated line filter attenuates conducted emissions to meet plant EMC requirements.

This performance envelope is supported by forced air cooling, which channels cabinet air through the heat sink to maintain semiconductor junction temperatures. The controller carries an enclosure rating of IP20, so it must be installed in a protected electrical cabinet suitable for class 3K3 environments. Acceptable relative humidity is limited to less than 85 % at 28 °C, preventing condensation on live parts during daily shifts. This layout directs cooling air across the heat sink while keeping the active electronics inside a protected cabinet.
