The RAC 3.5-150-460-A0D-W1-220 main spindle drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth has drives with high stiffness and a wide speed range with constant power. The internal position control loop of the product is closed with either motor feedback or extra optional spindle feedback. The device can be cooled by air circulation inside or outside the control cabinet. The programming module of a defective unit can be removed and fitted on a new controller without any modification. The controller can be made to function in workshops located in warm, moderate and cold regions as long as the average relative humidity does not exceed 70%.

This drive controller does not feature protection against water and intentional penetration such as by hand. The inside of the control cabinet in which the product is installed has an IP 54 degree of protection. The device is equipped with a digital 16-bit parallel position setpoint for 3,600 positions as its additional interface. Its workload determines the power dissipation externally and internally. The unit features standardized electrical connections to minimize cable usage. The controller specific connections are done using the X15 terminal strip. It comes with a continuous power output of 30kW with an 8kHz operation.

The unit can be operated at a maximum ambient temperature of 55°C with data reduced to 80%. The device must be transported in a dry state without any load during transport. It should also be neither tipped nor dropped during transport. The unit must feature the ground connection of the motor. The product must be repaired only by authorized or trained personnel. The controller must be exchanged only after loosening and removing all its screws as well as after taking it out of the sealed housing.
