The RAC 2.3-200-460-D0I-W1 spindle drive controller is a special type of spindle controller produced by Indramat to specifically increase the productivity of numerically controlled industrial machines. The drive controller provides intelligent digital control for different types of main servo motors, such as Indramat 2AD asynchronous main spindle motors and 1MB frameless spindle motors. Industrial machines equipped with the RAC 2.3-200-460-D0I-W1 are characterized by increased productivity, high stiffness, and a broad speed range with continuous power. The controller acknowledges rotor positions with a resolution as high as 1/4 000 000 revolutions. This unique character allows the drive controller to control the motor even at the lowest speed.

The RAC 2.3-200-460-D0I-W1 spindle drive controller has a type current of about 300 Amperes. It produces a continuous controller input and a peak controller input of 55 kilowatts respectively. During a power interruption, the spindle drive controller generates a continuous regeneration power output of 37 kilowatts. It can also maintain a peak regeneration output of 55 kilowatts for about 5 seconds. The drive controller contains three types of electrical connections: the feedback and CNC connections, the power connections, and controller specific connections. The spindle drive controller weighs about 121 kilograms. The drive controller does not cantain a bleeder, an additional interface, or an additional encoder input.

The RAC 2.3-200-460-D0I-W1 drive controller has an in-built air fan and a heat sink used to dissipate the heat produced by the drive controller during operation. The drive controller should not be operated at an ambient temperature greater than +55 degrees celsius. The drive controller is produced under ideal industrial conditions and has been repeatedly tested to ensure it is safe for industrial use.
