The RAC 2.2-200-380-A0S-W1 product is an RAC series main spindle drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. The drive controller is used for the digital control of 1MB frameless spindle motors. The product features an internal position control loop. This loop is closed by an optional spindle feedback or a motor feedback. The AC main spindle drive features a broad speed range. The device is capable of independent positioning of the spindle based on the response of a signal. It can operate as a C-axis or a servo-axis with the position control loop featuring maximum precision. The high-resolution feedback of the controller is equipped with the ability to handle and precisely control very low speeds.

The main spindle drive controller has a current rating of 300A. The drive controller features a +/-10V analog speed set-point that is connected to the X4 connector. The product does not make use of an additional bleeder. The device has a protection rating of IP 10 in adherence to EN 60 529/DIN VDE 0470 specifications. It is integrated with an emergency stop switch and a mains contactor. The unit is cooled through air flow inside or outside the control cabinet in which it is mounted. The link circuit connection and the Q1 switch are housed at the top of the drive controller on the front panel.

The parameter values for motor optimization are loaded in the programming module that is plugged onto the product. The analog speed set-point can be used to connect to standard CNC controls. The drive controller is designed to function between 5°C and 45°C without any reduction of data. The installation altitude of the product should ideally not be more than 1,000m over sea level. The device is protected against the entry of solid objects that have a diameter of more than 50mm. The unit can be shipped globally with a warranty period of one year.
