Product Description:
The RAC 4.1-300-460-A0D-W1 is an AC main spindle drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RAC Spindle Drive Controllers series. As the central power module for a machine’s main spindle, it converts three-phase mains power into controlled motor current and provides speed references required by industrial automation systems. It serves as the link between the incoming power supply, the spindle motor, and the machine control. This role makes it suitable for machine tools and other equipment where spindle speed must remain stable during changing process loads.
Its power section accepts three-phase supplies at 3 x AC 400 V, 50 Hz, ±15% or 3 x AC 460 V and delivers up to 300 A of continuous output to the spindle windings. Thermal management relies on a built-in fan, eliminating the need for external cooling ducts. Velocity can be commanded through an ±10 V analog reference, while a digital position setpoint transmitted over a 16-bit parallel bus is available when tighter positional control is required. This arrangement allows the controller to work with both conventional analog control circuits and higher-level systems that send more structured motion commands. The wide input tolerance also allows one controller type to cover European and North American line voltages without tap changing.
For installations that already incorporate dynamic braking resistors, the controller is supplied without an additional bleeder. Feedback wiring is simplified because it also comes without an additional encoder input, so the internal circuits rely on the primary spindle sensor. All low-level control and monitoring conductors terminate at the front-panel X4 9-pole plug. This keeps the control interfaces grouped at a single connection point on the unit face. The unit is Series 4 and Version 1.
