The Rexroth Indramat is RAC 3.5-150-460-LP0-W1-220 a spindle drive controller. It is designed for intelligent control of Indramat 2AD and 1MB series spindle motors. Indramat drives which use a RAC 3 controller such as the RAC 3.5-150-460-LP0-W1-220 have a high speed range and high stiffness, and this makes them suitable for use in numerically controlled industrial machine tools. Spindle drives with RAC 3 series controllers have internal position control loop which independently positions the spindle. AC drives with RAC 3 series controllers can also operate spindle in servo axis with high precision in position control loop. The RAC 3.5-150-460-LP0-W1-220 is a convection cooled controller which uses air from inside or outside the housing. RAC controllers can be easily modified to take air from inside or outside the housing for cooling.
Air can be drawn from outside the housing through slits which are specifically provided for this purpose in the back wall of the cabinet. If the slits cannot be used for some practical reason then the controller can be cooled through hose cooling. Accessories required for hose cooling are provided in an assembly kit with the controller. However, the hose needs to be ordered from Indramat. Each RAC 3.5-150-460-LP0-W1-220 controller comes with built-in cooling fan. A minimum of 160 millimeters of clearance should be provided on the bottom and top side of a vertically mounted RAC 3.5-150-460-LP0-W1-220. Current rating of the RAC 3.5-150-460- LP0-W1-220 is 150 Amps. Control circuit on the controller requires 220 Volts AC supply. Input power rating of the controller is 380 to 460 Volts AC (three-phase, 50 to 60 Hertz). Also available on the controller are SERCOS interface for speed set point and an additional encoder input for spindle feedback or 2nd motor feedback. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
