The Rexroth RAC 3.5-150-460-L00-Z1-220 is a RAC series main spindle drive controller which is designed for digital control of asynchronous spindle motors. It can control motors rated from 10 kilowatts to 30 kilowatts. The RAC 3.5-150-460-L00-Z1-220 is a series 3, design 5 controller with 150 Amps current rating. It requires three-phase 380 to 460 Volts AC input from AC main supply and 220 Volts AC input for control electronics. For both the power supply and for the control electronics supply the range of compatible line frequencies is 50 to 60 Hertz. The RAC 3.5-150-460-L00-Z1-220 includes an integrated mains contactor and an emergency stop circuit. The controller also includes an integrated bleeder for braking when mains failure occurs. Energy recovered during braking on the controller is fed back into the three-phase mains power supply network.
Additional integrated features available on the RAC 3.5-150-460-L00-Z1-220 include a SERCOS interface for speed set-point and a cooling fan for assisting with air convection cooling. Air for cooling can be drawn from either inside or outside the controller housing. To ensure adequate air flow, Rexroth recommends a minimum clearance of 160 millimeters both above and below a vertically mounted controller. During operation the temperature of air which surrounds the controller must be maintained between 5 and 45 degrees Celsius. The controller can be operated at up to 55 degrees Celsius ambient temperature but in this case the controller output is reduced to 80% of rated data. A heatsink for the power electronics is also provided on the controller. Neither an additional encoder input nor an additional interface are available on the controller. Weight of the RAC 3.5-150-460-L00-Z1-220 is approximately 49 kilograms. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
