Rexroth Indramat’s RAC 3.5-100-460-API-W1-220 comes equipped with a three-phase power supply, 3xAC 380V-460V, 50-60Hz with rated current of 100A. The rated supply voltage for the unit’s control electronics is 220V. The speed set-point interface is analogue (+/- 10 volts) with additional encoder input for spindle feedback or 2nd motor feedback. The RAC 3.5-100-460-API-W1-220 also supports an additional incremental encoder output interface. The unit has an inbuilt cooling fan suited for indoor cooling but the unit can be structurally altered using the mounting accessories provided along with the assembly kit. Hose cooling is also supported but the hose must be separately purchased.
The main spindle drive comes immediately ready upon delivery with no adjustments required because of the AS programming module. The programming module can be used to alter parameters to better suit facility conditions and requirements. The programming module also makes duplication of parameters for similar machines trivial and if the unit needs to be exchanged, the controller can be immediately adapted to plant conditions by simply plugging in the programming module thus far used.
The RAC 3.5-100-460-API-W1-220 is at its best when operating within 5-45 degrees Celsius; temperatures above 55 Celsius will cause drastic decrease in performance. Maximum Installation altitude above sea level is 1000m, higher than which will cause drop in values for rated torque and power. The controller can be operated in most climates as long as the relative humidity does not exceed 70% (higher relative humidity can cause water condensation on the drive controllers interfering with its electronics). Protection category of the RAC controller is IP 10, for the interior cabinet it is IP 54 and for the fan, IP 24. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
