The RAC 2.3-250-380-AP0-W1 is a RAC 2 main spindle drive controller. This controller drives Indramat 2AD main spindle motors and 1 MB frameless spindle motors digitally. The drive offers high stiffness at the motor shaft as well as continuous power at a wide speed range. This makes them well suited to be used in numerically controlled machine tools. The drive controller also features an internal position control loop. The loop is completed by feedback from the motor or optional spindle feedback. The loop can position the spindle with the help of the feedback and a work signal. It offers a maximum resolution of 1/4 000 000th of a revolution.
The RAC 2.3-250-380-AP0-W1 runs on a 3-phase power supply. It already comes with a mains contactor and emergency circuit breaker. The power regenerated during braking is fed back to the 3-phase power supply. This happens during an emergency stop as well. This controller can stop the spindle even when there is a power outage by using DC braking. It can be cooled using both inside and outside air from a control cabinet. The structural changes are simple and easy to do and don’t require any extra accessories. It has an integrated heat sink in its housing for both the fan and electronics.
It requires 400A of current. This unit features an analogue speed set point. This model comes with an additional encoder input for getting feedback from a second motor or getting feedback from a spindle. This product doesn’t feature an additional bleeder.
