The RAC 2.3-200-460-APS-W1 RAC series main spindle drive controller has a rated connections voltage of either 3 x 400VAC at 50Hz or 3 x 460VAC at 60Hz. This drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth must be matched to the connected motor and the drive-through parameters. The parameters are input using a keypad present on the control panel. The rated power and torque of the product gets reduced when the installation altitude increases from 1,000m above sea level. It is protected against the entry of solid objects that have a diameter of more than 50mm. The average relative humidity of the place where the unit is installed must not be more than 70%.
The internal and external power dissipation by the main spindle drive controller depends on the workload. The feedback, power, and CNC connections have identical terminal and plug assignments. The interfaces of the product are allocated to their connection plans using a text string. The product has two plug-in terminals at the bottom for the motor NTC-resistor, mains contactor control, as well as ready-state and monitoring contacts. The device can be connected to ungrounded or grounded three-phase current networks if the rated connections voltage and the mains voltage are the same.
The drive controller can be adapted to the main spindle motor using the AS programming module. This module comprises both parameters and software so that the controller needs no extra adjustment if it has to be replaced. The parameters pertain to both the drive and the application. The drive related parameters are defined and fixed by the manufacturer. The unit should always be stored in an impact-free place where there is no dust or dirt.
