The RAC 2.3-200-460-APD-W1 unit from Bosch Rexroth is a main spindle drive controller. It is used for the digital control of the 1MB and 2AD series of motors from the same manufacturer. The product is widely deployed in numerically controlled machine tools. It can be operated in dry-to-warm and cold-to-moderate climates. It is to be used between an ideal temperature range of 5°C and 45°C without derated data. The motor fan connection, mains connection, and motor power connection are located at the bottom of the controller. The unit is integrated into the circuit of the control cabinet using a ready state evaluation contact.
The CNC, power, and feedback connections of the drive controller are established through an X15 terminal strip. The product comes with a 16-bit parallel input as an additional interface for digital position set-points. The device must be lifted only using a crane or similar lifting equipment because of its excess weight. It should not be switched back on again when it is stopped due to a fault. The controller must be repaired only by personnel authorized by the manufacturer. The programming module must not be fitted onto or removed from the product when its power supply is turned ON.
The drive controller must not be dropped or tipped during storage and transport. The product should be mounted inside the control cabinet using appropriate lifting equipment and the mechanical mounting accessories provided. The device has a mounting frame on its back wall that must be removed and fitted behind the wall of the control cabinet during the mounting process. The programming module should be plugged in and secured in place using a knurled screw before the unit is commissioned.
