The RAC 2.3-200-460-A0I-Z1 main spindle drive controller is used to control the manufacturer’s motors that have 30kW to 52kW output at the drive shaft. This Bosch Rexroth product controls frameless spindle motors and asynchronous main spindle motors digitally. The device is one of the several RAC series of drive controllers from the manufacturer. It features a wide speed range with non-stop power and high stiffness. These features make the drive a good choice for use in machine tools that are controlled numerically. The drive controller operates the AC main spindle drive as a C-axis or servo-axis with high accuracy in the position control loop.
The main spindle drive controller is integrated with an emergency stop and a mains contactor. The product must be mounted inside a sealed housing or a control cabinet that adheres to DIN VDE 0160 specifications. The device is fitted on to the back wall of the control cabinet.
