As a main-axis regulator, it delivers closed-loop speed control to induction or synchronous spindle motors, allowing machining centers and turning equipment to maintain commanded revolutions during cutting cycles. The controller occupies a central position in the drive stack and exchanges status, torque limits, and diagnostic data with a higher-level CNC or PLC. In spindle applications, that control loop helps the machine hold the requested speed as cutting load changes during tool entry, material removal, and deceleration. Because the spindle axis often shares timing with feed axes, stable speed regulation also helps maintain consistent cutting conditions during programmed motion.
For power distribution, the unit accepts three-phase 400 V AC at 50/60 Hz. Its inverter section is rated for a continuous output of 200 A, which supports large spindle motors during sustained operation and acceleration. Temperature rise is managed by a built-in blower, which moves air across the power section without requiring separate cabinet ducting. Command and feedback signals pass through optical waveguides on connector X4, reducing the effect of electrical noise on the control electronics. Velocity setpoints arrive through the SERCOS interface, allowing cycle-synchronous coordination between the spindle and interpolating axes.
