The RAC 2.2-250-460-LP0-W1 is a RAC 2 main spindle drive controller from Bosch Rexroth. It is meant to digitally control Indramat asynchronous spindle motors and frameless spindle motors. They find primary usage in numerically controlled machining tools. This unit comes with an integrated mains switch and an emergency stop switch. The energy which is produced during braking operation is re-fed into the 3 phase supply. The unit is provided with a heatsink for taking away excess heat generated during its operation. There is an air shaft provided for introducing cool air inside the unit. The RAC controller can either be installed to be cooled by the control cabinet or inside air.
Programming modules are available with stored motor parameter values for optimizing the motor. These modules can be reused in a new controller. The controller can tolerate a humidity of class F as per DIN 40 040 standards. The maximum permissible relative humidity for safe operation of the controller is 70%. Make sure that condensation water is not formed. The unit is designed to operate from 5 degree C to 45 degree C. The control cabinet should be fitted with a cooling mechanism to avoid the maximum temperature from exceeding.
