The R-IB IL 24 DI 32/HD-PAC is a digital input interface module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the R-IB Interface Modules series. In an industrial automation system, it occupies a position on the remote I/O bus and translates 24-volt field sensor states into controller-level logic, allowing PLCs to read machine conditions in real time. Its high channel density lets multiple limit switches, photoelectric sensors, or pushbuttons be integrated while conserving DIN-rail space.

It provides 32 digital input channels that conform to the EN 61131-2 Type 1 standard, so each point can reliably sense sourcing devices tied to the system common. The circuitry is energized from a field supply of 24 V DC, while the internal logic domain is isolated and operates at 7.5 V to reduce heat dissipation. A channel is recognized as active once the voltage exceeds the > 15 V high-level threshold and returns to inactive below the < 5 V low-level threshold, which helps prevent false toggling in noisy environments. Every active line draws only 2.8 mA, minimizing the load on proximity switches or mechanical contacts and supporting long sensor runs without significant voltage drop.

The module exchanges input data with the bus coupler at a rate of 500 kbaud, while state propagation to the controller is additionally limited by a 2 ms turn-on delay and a 4 ms turn-off delay that help filter contact bounce without extra code. Physical dimensions are 48.8 mm wide, 120 mm high, and 71.5 mm deep, allowing side-by-side mounting on crowded rails. Wiring follows a 1-wire connection scheme and can be routed up to 30 m from the sensor field. The enclosure is rated IP20, so it must be installed inside a cabinet but provides fingertip protection once in place, and the 7.5 V logic supply is derived automatically from the backplane.
