Product Description:
The PST6250.280-L is a thyristor power unit manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PST Thyristor Power Units series. Installed in control cabinets, it uses phase-angle firing to meter line energy to industrial transformers, heaters, or resistance welders that need repeatable current pulses. Its timing section is coordinated through PROFIBUS, translating fieldbus commands into accurately gated semiconductor conduction so plant controllers can regulate delivered power during automated production cycles. That makes the unit suitable for processes that depend on controlled heat input or short, repeatable high-current pulses instead of simple on-off switching.
The unit’s electronics are energized by a control supply of 24 V DC, while reliable operation is maintained across a wider logic range of 19 to 30 V DC. Its power bridge accepts mains from 400 V -20% to 600 V +10% at 50/60 Hz, allowing one model to operate on multiple regional grids. Under rated conditions, the assembly carries 200 A of RMS load current, and when connected to a welding transformer it can support systems up to 250 kVA. Air-cooled construction removes heat through an integral fan, and a 50% maximum duty cycle limits average thermal rise during repetitive loading. Insulation built to humidity class F helps protect the internal stack when moisture is present, and the main terminals accept conductors up to 95 mm² to help reduce voltage drop at high current.
Environmental limits allow installation at elevations up to 2000 m, and the housing carries a finger-safe IP20 protection rating for indoor panels. Continuous full-current service is permissible while cooling-air temperature does not exceed 45 °C, and higher values require derating to protect the semiconductor stack. The device withstands storage or transport from -25 to +70 °C without condensation when ambient humidity remains within class F. It is intended for cabinet-mounted use where controlled power delivery and protected access to energized parts are both important.
