The PST6100.610-L is a thyristor power unit produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PST Thyristor Power Units series. Installed between the mains and a machine transformer, it modulates line voltage by phase control. This allows industrial automation equipment to receive a regulated current profile suited for heating, welding, or similar high-power tasks.

This unit dissipates 70 W of basic cabinet loss, which helps with enclosure ventilation planning. A control electronics rail requires a 24 V DC supply so the firing circuits and diagnostics remain isolated from the power path. The enclosure carries an IP20 degree of protection, which limits ingress to fingers and small tools when the unit is mounted inside a cabinet. The unit uses a two-phase input, simplifying connection when a symmetrical three-phase feed is not available. During operation, the power section can deliver a nominal system current of 130 A to the connected transformer, which supports current-carrying conductor selection and protective device selection. The unit is air-cooled, and air passes through internal heat sinks. Integrated temperature monitoring sends a trip signal if heat rise exceeds the allowed range, and MOV overvoltage protection suppresses switching spikes created by thyristor commutation.

The power unit can be paired with transformers up to 76 kVA, which is the upper limit for secondary circuit capacity. Continuous operation is restricted by a maximum ambient temperature of 55 °C and a duty cycle not exceeding 50%; beyond these limits, the semiconductors may exceed their junction temperature. At the cabinet door, the cooling air must stay below 45 °C, and at least 100 mm of clearance is required above and below the heat sink intake. The recessed mounting style allows flush installation, while a wire range of 50 mm² accommodates the stated current. DeviceNet timing functions coordinate welding sequences through the built-in timer.
