Product Description:
The PST6100.322-L is a thyristor power unit from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the PST Thyristor Power Units series. The module provides solid-state switching so an automation controller can meter electrical energy to process loads with high repeatability and minimal wear. In production lines, it interfaces with PLCs and safety relays to switch heaters, transformers, or welding electrodes on and off according to commanded duty cycles.
During normal operation, the unit carries a nominal system current of 130 A, while its thermal design supports a continuous current of 110 A without exceeding temperature limits. A maximum duty cycle of 50% helps limit average cabinet heating and reduces the risk of core saturation in connected transformers. All logic and auxiliary circuits run from a 24 V DC supply, which also powers the internal stop circuit rated at 24 V DC and 3 A. The integrated transformer path is rated for 76 kVA, and the semiconductors dissipate only 70 W of heat into the enclosure. Cooling is handled by forced air, and the intake air must not exceed 45 °C to keep semiconductor junctions within safe temperature limits. Ethernet/IP serial I/O and an INTERBUS timer interface provide command and diagnostic channels, while 50 mm² terminals accept the required conductor size.
The enclosure carries an IP54 cabinet rating when the unit is mounted in a properly sealed switchgear frame, while the electronics themselves have an internal IP20 protection class. Reliable service is permitted at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C and at site elevations of up to 2000 m, provided the cooling air entering the chassis stays below 45 °C. The assembly weighs 12.5 kg, and its air-cooled design avoids water plumbing. Wire lugs sized for 50 mm² conductors simplify connection to high-current busbars and help keep voltage drop within acceptable limits.
