The PST6100.105-L is a thyristor power control module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PST Thyristor Power Units series. It gates and monitors power semiconductors that regulate heating elements, transformer primaries, and other high-current loads found in automated manufacturing lines. By converting low-voltage logic commands into precisely synchronized trigger pulses, the unit supports phase-angle or zero-cross switching so that upstream PLCs can hold stable process temperatures and limit inrush currents without adding separate analog regulators.

Control electronics are energized from a dedicated 24 VDC logic rail, isolating the firing circuits from mains voltage. An internal feedback loop samples output current at 5 kHz, giving the gate driver enough bandwidth to react to load changes within a single mains half-cycle. Programmable events are handled with a base granularity of 20 ms, which aligns with the unit’s mains-cycle timing model for consistent phase control. The housing has an IP20 degree of protection, so the module must be installed inside a cabinet, but conductors up to 50 mm² can be landed on its power terminals to accommodate high load currents. Cooling is by natural air flow, and an internal current sensor eliminates the need for external shunts.

Configuration and diagnostics travel over the built-in Ethernet interface, allowing BOS 6000 software to download up to 256 programmable steps that control power profiles, ramp times, and alarm thresholds. When the unit is mounted in an enclosure with an IP54 protection level, the assembly is shielded against dust deposits and splashing liquid. For emergency shutdown, the floating stop circuit can interrupt control lines carrying up to 24 VDC / 3 A, separating the logic path from high-energy mains conductors. Independent 24 VAC firing feedback and a 27 VAC synchronization signal keep gate timing locked to the mains phase so timing remains consistent during supply fluctuations.
