The PST6100.100-W is a water-cooled thyristor power unit produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PST Thyristor Power Units series. It combines a standard CPU with a 24 V timer circuit to gate the thyristor stack and deliver regulated power to industrial transformers and resistive loads used in automation cells. A 24 V DC discrete I/O block links the unit with external sequencing hardware, while cabinet losses are limited to 110 W so internal enclosure heat remains suitable for climatic category 3K3 conditions. This arrangement supports stable control of repetitive process loads and coordinated interaction with external machine logic.

The line side of the unit carries a nominal current of 150 A, and enclosure ingress protection is rated at IP20, so the unit must be installed inside a control cabinet. Maximum cooling losses reach 420 W, so the internal heat exchanger requires a minimum water flow of 4 l/min with coolant temperatures no higher than 30 °C. Switch cabinet basic losses add another 69 W that should be considered in thermal planning. A 100 mm clearance is required above and below the chassis for hose routing and unobstructed access. Installation altitude must remain within the permitted operating range, and the design supports moderate humidity under non-condensing conditions. Clean and consistent coolant flow helps the cooling circuit maintain steady operation during extended duty.

The hydraulic circuit tolerates water pressure up to 10 bar and continues to function at site elevations up to 2000 m without derating. When paired with a welding transformer, the unit can deliver apparent power of 167 kVA on a 20% duty cycle or 106 kVA on a 50% duty cycle. These output levels support both short, intense heating periods and longer repeated cycles in transformer-fed applications. The combination of controlled thyristor firing and water cooling suits high-current process equipment that operates in repeated production cycles.
