Product Description:
The PSI65C0.758-W1 is a medium-frequency power inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for industrial automation cells, the unit converts a three-phase supply into controllable medium-frequency output for induction heating, hardening, or melting lines. By modulating current through a water-cooled bridge, the inverter provides stable energy delivery to loads that demand rapid thermal cycles without the need for bulky mechanical transformers. As a standalone cabinet device, it interfaces with plant controllers through an embedded EtherNet timer module, enabling synchronized process initiation.
Incoming power lies in the 400–480 VAC range and is switched at a carrier rate of 1 kHz, giving the inverter the spectral content needed for medium-frequency induction coils. Under rated conditions, the power section supplies a peak of 2400 A while sustaining a nominal system current of 660 A to the bus bars. The secondary circuit can reach 120 kA, so connection lugs accept 120 mm² conductors and clamp with M10 bolts. Internal dissipation is limited to 100 W of cabinet loss, but water-side extraction must handle up to 4400 W created during full-load switching. A 24 V DC auxiliary circuit powers the logic, and an EtherNet timer coordinates pulse sequences with external PLCs. MOV technology provides overvoltage protection across the DC link.
Thermal management relies on a water-cooled plate that requires a flow of 10 l/min through M16 × 1.5 fittings, and inlet temperature must stay below 30 °C to meet the stated cooling capacity. This hydraulic arrangement allows the electronics to remain inside an IP20 enclosure even when surrounding air reaches the 45 °C maximum ambient limit. Altitude capability extends to 2000 m without current derating. Real-time monitoring of coolant flow, plate temperature, and bus status is available through the EtherNet timer interface, simplifying preventive maintenance schedules.
