Product Description:
The PSI65C0.120-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. The unit interfaces with welding transformers to deliver controlled high-current pulses, enabling repeatable energy input during resistance welding and other metal-joining processes on automated lines. Its internal electronics also provide 24 V logic power and field I/O, allowing the inverter to be installed directly in the machine cabinet without separate auxiliary power supplies.
Mains power enters through three phases at 400 to 480 VAC and 50 or 60 Hz, so the inverter can be wired directly to standard plant distribution systems. Under nominal conditions, the supply draws 330 A without additional cabinet cooling, while the internal bus and IGBT stage can handle a primary peak current of 2400 A. The unit can deliver up to 120 kA of secondary current to welding transformers when paired with the PSG 3100 rectifier. The modulation sequence operates at 1000 Hz, allowing tight heat control with reduced spatter. Discrete I/O operates at 24 V DC, and the stop circuit supports 24 V DC at 3 A for emergency shutoff. An integrated 24 V DC supply provides up to 2 A for external sensors or valve coils, reducing the need for auxiliary hardware.
Thermal management relies on a water-cooled plate that removes up to 4,400 W of inverter heat, while basic cabinet losses range from 100 W to 850 W depending on the duty cycle. The separate electronics section generates 420 W of heat, which must be considered when sizing the heat exchanger. The enclosure has an IP20 degree of protection and is approved for the 3K3 climatic category. Operation is permitted from +10 to +55 °C, while storage is permitted from -25 to +70 °C. Communication with the cell controller is handled through a serial interface with 128 inputs and 128 outputs. Timer functions and discrete chains share a single 24 V DC rail. The unit weighs 25 kg, allowing it to be mounted on a suitably rated slide-out cabinet shelf.
