Product Description:
The PSI64C0.788-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts three-phase factory power into a regulated high-frequency output suitable for induction heating coils, specialized spindles, or similar loads in automated production lines. The device can operate inside sealed cabinets where airflow is restricted. In machining, forming, and surface-treatment cells, it delivers consistent energy while offloading high-frequency switching tasks from the main controller.
The inverter accepts a line voltage range of 400–480 VAC, allowing direct connection to common industrial low-voltage grids without transformers. It synchronizes with plant power at 50 or 60 Hz, then rectifies and inverts that energy at the required operating frequency. An internal auxiliary source delivers 24 VDC for contactors, sensors, and fieldbus electronics. This source can supply up to 2 A, eliminating the need for a separate control supply within its rated capacity. Semiconductor switching produces 420 W of cooling losses, which the coolant circuit must remove during operation. The climatic classification is 3K3 under EN 60721-3-3, indicating suitability for clean, moderately controlled production halls rather than outdoor or corrosive locations.
Thermal management relies on a water-cooled heat exchanger that transfers heat from the power electronics to an external coolant circuit. The housing has an ingress protection rating of IP20, which prevents fingers and medium-sized objects from contacting live parts while leaving ventilation paths open inside the enclosure. Continuous operation is permitted from +10 °C to +55 °C. Storage and transportation are permitted from -25 °C to +70 °C when the inverter is not operating. Timing and diagnostic functions are coordinated through an EtherNet timer interface, allowing the unit to exchange control and status data with compatible automation equipment. The inverter weighs 25 kg, allowing installation on a cabinet shelf rated to support the unit and its associated mounting hardware.
