Product Description:
The PSI63C0.788-L2 inverter is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Its power stage is optimized for medium-frequency conversion, allowing it to supply induction heaters, plasma sources, and similar loads that operate above standard mains frequency. By interfacing with CNC or PLC controllers, the device provides a controllable link between plant power and resonant circuits. This arrangement supports repeatable energy delivery in industrial automation applications that require coordinated process timing.
The electrical input section accepts 480–690 VAC at line frequencies of 50/60 Hz, allowing the unit to operate on European and North American high-voltage grids. An internal auxiliary supply delivers 24 VDC at up to 2 A, so control relays, I/O modules, and safety circuits can be powered without an external switched-mode power supply. The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, so the inverter must be installed inside a suitable cabinet while remaining protected against accidental finger contact with live parts. Power losses are limited to 360 W, and forced-air cooling removes the resulting heat from the unit. Time-based sequencing can be configured over an Ethernet interface, allowing start, stop, and dwell periods to be synchronized with the main automation controller. Adequate cabinet airflow and clearance are required to prevent heated exhaust air from circulating back through the inverter.
The inverter meets the 3K3 climatic classification under EN 60721-3-3, making it suitable for moderate industrial operating conditions. During operation, it supports ambient temperatures from +10 to +55 °C without derating. Storage and transportation are permitted within a temperature range of -25 to +70 °C. The chassis weighs 21 kg, so the cabinet structure and mounting hardware must provide adequate support. Its mass also affects handling requirements and the placement of supporting rails or mounting plates inside the enclosure. The medium-frequency design allows the inverter to be positioned near compatible process equipment when cabinet space, airflow, electrical clearances, and ambient temperature limits are properly considered.
