The PSI63C0.782-W2 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. As a power conversion module, it supplies regulated medium-frequency current to induction or resistance heating equipment and other process loads in automated cells. The unit modulates high-voltage three-phase mains into controlled secondary current, allowing precise energy delivery to welding transformers or similar devices used on production lines.

For input power, the inverter accepts three-phase mains from 480 to 690 VAC, and its internal control operates at a carrier frequency of 1 kHz, enabling smooth current shaping. The digital controller works with a time base of 1 ms, so pulse sequences and process timers can be set in millisecond increments. Under peak demand, the power stage can supply 800 A of output, while the continuous nominal system current is 110 A. Protection against fingers and large objects is provided by an enclosure rated IP20, so the drive must be mounted inside a cabinet. The electronic section is water cooled, and heat removal through a plate exchanger helps limit enclosure temperature and support component life.

The water circuit requires 4 L/min of flow through an M16 × 1.5 connection, and the coolant must not exceed 30 °C. The surrounding air is permitted up to 55 °C before derating occurs. Secondary current capability reaches 36 kA when the inverter is used with a PSG 3100 transformer, supporting up to five electrodes on a single machine head. Up to 256 user programs are stored in flash memory, and each can be addressed over an Ethernet timer interface that provides synchronous triggers to external controls. Field wiring uses 35 mm² power terminals and 50 mm² clamp capacity so the nominal current can be carried with minimal voltage drop.
