The PSI63C0.781-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and supplied within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. The unit converts fixed utility power into a regulated medium-frequency output that drives induction heaters, high-speed spindles, or other loads that benefit from variable-frequency operation in automated production lines. By integrating control, power electronics, and cabinet interfaces, the inverter simplifies panel assembly and allows centralized speed or power regulation from a plant PLC. It is intended for indoor switchgear cells where space and access for service are limited.

On the input side, the inverter draws a nominal current of 110 A from a three-phase 400–480 VAC supply. Cabinet dissipation is limited to a base loss of 69 W at idle and rises to 170 W when the output stage is loaded to its rated current. Forced airflow can remove an additional 360 W before thermal derating occurs. The control logic uses a TriCore CPU with a program capacity of 256 user steps, while sequencing and diagnostics are synchronized through an EtherNet timer. Protection against severe downstream faults is provided by a PSG 3100 transformer that can carry secondary currents up to 36 kA. Power terminations accept conductors as small as 35 mm², and signal terminals are kept under 50 mm² to fit standard cabinet clamps.

The design is air cooled, so external chillers are unnecessary. An internal supply delivers 24 VDC at 2 A for sensors and contactors, which helps reduce the need for separate control power hardware. The power stage permits up to 800 A of primary current during short surges, and the enclosure has an IP20 rating for indoor cabinet installation. Internal counters managed by the EtherNet timer remove the need for separate relays. The inverter can operate reliably at altitudes up to 2000 m.
