The PSI63C0.772-L2 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. In automated production lines, the unit supplies variable medium-frequency power to heating, welding, and similar process loads, acting as an interface between the three-phase mains supply and a tuned work coil or transformer. By modulating current and voltage, it provides accurate energy dosing in response to commands from a process controller or PLC, reducing thermal overshoot and supporting repeatable operation. Its compact design allows installation in a standard industrial control cabinet while leaving space for the required power connections and cooling airflow.

The electrical section accepts a three-phase supply of 480 to 690 VAC at 50/60 Hz, allowing direct connection to compatible high-voltage plant buses. When energized, the converter produces a basic cabinet power loss of 100 W. Semiconductor switching contributes an additional 360 W of heat that must be removed by the cabinet’s air-cooling system. The enclosure has an ingress protection rating of IP20, which protects against accidental contact with internal parts but does not provide protection from dust or water. These electrical and thermal characteristics must be considered when selecting the mounting position, ventilation capacity, and surrounding cabinet equipment.

A control supply of 24 VDC powers the logic circuits and Ethernet-based timer functions. The power stage can conduct up to 800 A during transient demand, while its continuous current rating is 110 A. When paired with a downstream PSG 3100 transformer, the system supports a secondary short-circuit current of 36 kA for fault-clearing operation. Because the assembly is air-cooled, the incoming cooling air must not exceed 45 °C, while the surrounding ambient temperature may reach 55 °C without derating. A clearance of 100 mm around the cabinet allows unobstructed airflow through the cooling path. An MOV network clamps incoming mains surges, and the power terminals accept conductors with a cross-sectional area of 35 mm².
