Product Description:
The PSI63C0.179-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts three-phase factory mains into regulated high-current output for induction heating coils, welding generators, and other processes that require controllable kilohertz power. The unit includes an auxiliary control supply for drive logic and external sensors, simplifying cabinet wiring in automated production lines.
The inverter connects to 400–480 VAC, 50 or 60 Hz networks through a box terminal that accepts conductors up to 50 mm². An internal supply delivers 24 VDC at up to 2 A for auxiliary loads. Power semiconductors switch at a 1 kHz carrier frequency to generate the required medium-frequency output. The inverter can momentarily deliver 800 A and, when paired with a PSG 3100 converter, can provide up to 36 kA on the secondary side. A metal-oxide varistor array protects the unit against line disturbances. The housing provides IP20 ingress protection and meets climatic category 3K3 and humidity class F. The inverter produces 69 W of basic power loss, while forced-air cooling keeps internal temperatures within operating limits at altitudes up to 2,000 m.
During sustained operation, the power stage is rated for 110 A, and ventilation can remove up to 360 W of heat while the ambient temperature remains below 55 °C. The unit weighs 20 kg, which supports panel installation without excessive structural loading. Its operating temperature range extends from +10 °C to +55 °C. Storage is permitted from -25 °C to +70 °C. The design does not require liquid cooling circuits, reducing the number of external connections needed in the cabinet. A 24 V timer input enables cycle synchronization with connected equipment. Parameters are configured through an RS-232 V24 interface that uses a 9-pin D-Sub connector.
