The PSI63C0.168-L2 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the PSI Frequency Inverters series. This unit converts high-voltage three-phase mains power into a controlled medium-frequency output suitable for induction heating, forging, or other industrial processes that require precise energy modulation. Within an automation cell, it functions as the power stage that follows process commands from a higher-level controller and maintains stable current delivery to matched resonant loads.

Mains input lies between 480 – 690 VAC, allowing the inverter to be fed directly from common industrial supply networks. On the output side, it can deliver up to 800 A, while the nominal system current is rated at 110 A, giving headroom for transient peaks. The enclosure has a protection degree of IP20, so it must be mounted inside a switch cabinet where conductive parts are guarded against accidental contact. Internal switching devices operate at a clock frequency of 1 kHz, which balances conversion efficiency with manageable electromagnetic emission. Logic and I/O circuits are powered by a separate 24 V DC control supply and communicate with the plant controller over the INTERBUS fieldbus. Continuous operation is permitted in ambient temperatures up to 55 °C when the specified 35 mm² wiring is used. A single AA 3.6 V lithium battery preserves parameter retention whenever mains and control supplies are disconnected.
