The PSI63C0.133-L2 medium-frequency inverter is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the PSI Frequency Inverters series. In an automation cell, it converts incoming three-phase power into a regulated medium-frequency output that drives induction heating coils, resonant converters, or similar loads. The module can operate in closed-loop temperature or current control circuits where rapid adjustment of the power level is required without relying on mechanical transformers. Its modular design follows the common PSI platform layout, supporting organized cabinet arrangements and consistent connections with other modules in the system.
During operation, the enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, so it must be mounted inside a filtered cabinet and kept free of conductive dust. The power section is air-cooled, and internal fans remove up to 360 W of heat generated by semiconductor switching losses. The inverter accepts mains supplies from 480 to 690 VAC at either 50 or 60 Hz, allowing it to operate on common high-voltage plant networks without transformer tap adjustments. An onboard auxiliary converter supplies control power and can deliver up to 2 A for drive electronics, relays, and status lamps. Adequate ventilation around the enclosure helps the fans maintain airflow through the power section during continuous operation.
The inverter complies with climatic class 3K3, making it suitable for moderate humidity and noncondensing conditions commonly found in production facilities. Continuous operation is permitted from +10 °C to +55 °C, while storage or transportation is permitted from -25 °C to +70 °C. The integrated auxiliary rail provides a stabilized 24 VDC supply for external timers or interlock circuits. The chassis weighs 21 kg, allowing it to be mounted on a suitably rated rack or backplate. Appropriate lifting and mounting provisions should be used to support the chassis securely while preserving access to its cooling paths and electrical connections.
