The PSI6300.357-L2 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for stationary plant installations, the unit converts utility power into a regulated medium-frequency output used to energize induction coils, brazing stations, and similar loads in automated manufacturing cells. An integrated logic supply powers the control electronics, while an INTERBUS timer channel exchanges status and setpoint data with higher-level controllers. This arrangement supports coordinated operation in automated heat-treatment and forming applications without requiring a separate communication device.
The inverter accepts an incoming three-phase voltage of 480–690 VAC without an autotransformer, allowing direct connection to the high-voltage distribution systems used in large plants. It supports line frequencies of 50 or 60 Hz, allowing operation with common industrial power networks. An integrated auxiliary supply delivers 24 VDC at up to 2 A, providing power for compatible contactors, sensors, or local I/O modules. The air-cooled design removes switching heat through forced airflow, so an external liquid-cooling circuit is unnecessary. The housing has an IP20 protection rating, which protects against accidental finger contact with live parts but does not provide protection from water. The unit is therefore intended for installation inside a suitable electrical enclosure that provides the required protection from contaminants and moisture.
At full output, the inverter produces cooling losses of 360 W, so the cabinet ventilation system must provide enough airflow to keep the unit within its permitted temperature range. The operating temperature range is +10 to +55 °C, which must be considered when selecting the enclosure location and ventilation capacity. The unit complies with climatic class 3K3 under EN 60721-3-3 and is suitable for moderate humidity in noncondensing indoor industrial conditions. It may be transported or stored at temperatures from -25 to +70 °C without power applied. Its mass of 21 kg requires a panel and mounting hardware capable of supporting the inverter securely. Adequate spacing around the cooling path helps prevent recirculation of heated air and allows the forced-air system to remove internal losses effectively.
