The PSI6300.323-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts factory three-phase power into a regulated medium-frequency output that drives induction heaters, seam welders, or other loads that need fast energy transfer during automated processes. By managing current and frequency electronically, the inverter supplies stable power to the secondary circuit so that heating cycles remain repeatable and synchronized with machine control logic.

The inverter accepts a mains input of 400 – 480 VAC and uses a separate 24 V DC control supply for its logic, relay coils, and monitoring circuits. Internal switching devices operate at a clock frequency of 1 kHz, establishing the carrier on which the medium-frequency waveform is synthesized. The housing carries an IP20 degree of protection, so it requires installation inside a switchboard that shields it from dust and direct contact. Heat produced by the power stage is removed by forced air, and up to 360 W of external cooling loss must be removed by the cabinet ventilation system to keep semiconductor junctions within their temperature limits.

The power section can deliver a maximum output current of 800 A during short thermal windows, while the transformer’s secondary winding may experience peak currents up to 36 kA as required by pulse heating profiles. For continuous duty, the nominal system current is limited to 110 A, which is used for cable sizing and protection coordination. Main terminals accommodate conductors up to 50 mm², and the lower end of the wire range is 35 mm², which supports common copper conductor sizes. Integrated temperature monitoring, MOV overvoltage clamps, and an INTERBUS timer interface provide protection and fieldbus connectivity for coordinated operation with higher-level motion or process controllers.
