The PSI6300.320-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. In automated equipment, it converts three-phase factory power into a controllable medium-frequency output that drives induction heaters, spindle motors, or other loads requiring high switching speeds. The integrated power section and control electronics combine the required conversion stages in a cabinet-mounted unit for centralized machine power distribution. This arrangement reduces the number of separate power-conversion components required within the control cabinet while providing a regulated output for the connected load.

The inverter connects directly to industrial mains rated from 400 to 480 VAC and supports utility grids operating at 50 or 60 Hz, allowing installation on either supported frequency. Its housing has an IP20 protection rating, so the inverter must be installed inside a suitable enclosure that prevents access to hazardous internal parts. The unit uses forced-air cooling to remove heat generated by the internal switching components during operation. A built-in auxiliary supply provides 24 VDC logic power with a maximum output current of 2 A, supporting sensors, contactors, and the INTERBUS timing interface without a separate supply. When the inverter is shut down, it can withstand storage or transport temperatures from -25 to +70 °C without damage under the stated handling conditions. At full rated load, the power stage dissipates up to 360 W, and the cabinet’s thermal management system must accommodate this heat load. Air passages should remain unobstructed, and surrounding components should be positioned so they do not restrict heat removal from the inverter. The chassis has a mass of 20 kg, which must be considered when selecting mounting hardware and cabinet supports. Adequate space should also be reserved around the unit for cable routing, electrical clearances, and access to its power and control connections.
