The PSI6300.315-L2 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for industrial automation, the unit converts incoming high-voltage mains power into a controlled medium-frequency output. This output supplies induction heaters, hardening equipment, and other power-demanding processes that require precise energy delivery and repeatable control.
The inverter accepts a three-phase input range of 480–690 VAC at line frequencies of 50 or 60 Hz, allowing connection to common plant distribution systems without a step-up transformer. An integrated auxiliary power stage delivers a stabilized 24 VDC rail at up to 2 A. This local supply can power external relays, sensors, and control electronics directly from the drive. Under nominal load, the power electronics generate up to 360 W of heat loss, which the cabinet ventilation system must remove to keep semiconductor junction temperatures within their permitted limits. The wide input range supports use with different industrial distribution voltages, while the auxiliary rail reduces the need for a separate low-voltage supply inside the cabinet.
Thermal management is supported by an air-cooled design that channels air through internal heat sinks, so no liquid cooling circuit is required. The enclosure has a protection rating of IP20, so it should be installed in a closed control cabinet when dust or moisture is present. Reliable operation is permitted at ambient temperatures from +10 to +55 °C. Storage and transportation are permitted at temperatures from -25 to +70 °C. Compliance with climatic class 3K3 under EN 60721-3-3 indicates resistance to the moderate humidity and temperature variations commonly encountered in production facilities. The INTERBUS timer interface synchronizes output enable signals with higher-level controllers, supporting coordinated process timing. With a mass of 21 kg, the inverter can be positioned and secured within a properly supported industrial control cabinet.
