The PSI6300.001-W2 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Installed in melting furnaces, induction heaters, and similar machines, it converts three-phase utility power into a regulated medium-frequency output that can be matched to resonant loads. The unit mounts inside a switchgear cabinet and connects to supervisory controls through low-voltage I/O. This arrangement provides an energy-conversion stage that replaces bulky motor-generator sets with solid-state electronics.

The power section accepts a mains voltage of 480 to 690 VAC, while its logic circuits receive power from a separate 24 V DC supply to keep the control electronics active during line disturbances. The maximum inverter output reaches 800 A, and the bridge switches at 1 kHz, balancing transformer size against switching losses. Cabinet ventilation is unnecessary because semiconductor heat is removed by a water-cooled plate. The required water flow is 4 L/min, and the housing has an IP20 protection rating, so the inverter must be installed behind protective panels. Electrical losses inside the enclosure reach 140 W at rated power, and overvoltage events on the DC link are suppressed by a metal-oxide varistor network. Power terminals accept conductors with cross-sectional areas of up to 50 mm², allowing connections to busbars or laminated straps.

Process water must enter at a temperature below 30 °C, and the heat exchanger can dissipate up to 500 W while the ambient cabinet temperature is 55 °C. Operation is permitted at elevations of up to 2,000 m above sea level without derating. The inverter tolerates a continuous system current of 110 A and secondary fault-current peaks as high as 36 kA. A threaded M16 × 1.5 port provides the water inlet and accommodates common industrial hose fittings.
