Product Description:
The PSI62C0.225-W1 frequency inverter is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It is a medium-frequency inverter intended to power resistance-welding transformers and other loads that require controlled current in automated manufacturing cells. By converting three-phase plant power into a regulated waveform, the unit supplies the current needed for repeatable welding operations. This design supports precise control of the energy delivered to the workpiece during each programmed weld cycle.
The inverter accepts a line voltage of 400 to 480 VAC and draws a nominal line current of 220 A. Internally, it produces output pulses at 1000 Hz, allowing the connected transformer to provide high power from a compact assembly. Water serves as the cooling medium, and a pressure drop of 0.6 bar at 4 L/min across the heat exchanger keeps semiconductor junction temperatures within operating limits. Typical cabinet losses are 69 W, while losses can rise to 210 W at maximum utilization. The circuit can dissipate up to 700 W under the highest thermal load. The IP20 enclosure requires installation inside a suitable control cabinet, with at least 100 mm of ventilation clearance. The cooling circuit tolerates water pressure up to 10 bar, allowing it to connect to common industrial cooling systems without an additional pressure regulator.
On the primary side, the inverter can handle current bursts up to 1200 A. When paired with a PSG 3100 transformer, the secondary circuit can deliver welding current up to 54 kA to the workpiece. Conductors connecting the inverter to the line bus require a cross-sectional area of 95 mm² to control heating and voltage drop under load. The assembly weighs 56 kg and fits within an enclosure measuring 653 × 288 × 280 mm, supporting installation in industrial control cabinets. Serial communication is provided through PROFIBUS, and the integrated timer coordinates pulse sequences with upstream controllers and safety interlocks. This communication link allows the automation system to exchange operating commands, timing data, and inverter status information during production.
