The PSI6200.736-W1 belongs to the PSI Frequency Inverters series produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. As a medium-frequency inverter, it converts three-phase mains power into a controllable high-frequency output for induction heating coils, welding transformers, and other transformer-coupled loads used in automated manufacturing. By adjusting the output waveform electronically, the unit eliminates mechanical tap changing and allows precise control of current and energy input. An integrated 24 VDC, 2 A auxiliary supply powers local sensors and relays, and timing commands reach the inverter through an EtherNet-based timer channel for direct coordination with PLC sequences.
The power section accepts a line voltage of 400 – 480 VAC and draws a nominal current of 220 A, so input conductors with a cross-section of 95 mm² are required. Internally, the H-bridge can deliver up to 1200 A on the primary side, which translates to a secondary pulse current of 54 kA when the unit drives a PSG 3100 welding transformer. Up to 32 electrodes are supported, and 256 resident programs store individual current, time, and pressure profiles for quick process changes. A dedicated stop circuit rated for 24 VDC at 3 A lets safety relays interrupt the control loop without disconnecting the mains.
Thermal management relies on water cooling; the circuit must provide a minimum flow of 4 l/min at a pressure drop of 0.6 bar, and inlet temperature may not exceed 30 °C. Cabinet basic losses are 69 W, but switching peaks can raise enclosure dissipation to 210 W and move 700 W into the coolant, so the cooling system must be sized accordingly. The housing carries an IP20 degree of protection for installation behind a closed panel, and the total mass is 56 kg, which affects cabinet layout and handling during installation.
