Product Description:
The PSI6200.190-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. The unit converts a three-phase AC supply into a regulated medium-frequency output for resistance-welding equipment used in automated production cells. By supplying controlled current through a compatible welding transformer, it allows machine controllers to regulate weld energy without mechanical switching, improving repeatability and supporting short process cycles in industrial automation.
Input power is accepted over a range of 400–480 VAC, while the gate-drive and logic electronics draw power from an isolated 24 VDC control supply. A switching frequency of 1 kHz produces the pulse pattern used to regulate output power. Continuous operation supports a nominal system current of 220 A, while the inverter can deliver up to 1200 A during short, high-demand cycles. Metal-oxide varistors provide overvoltage protection by clamping transient spikes from the incoming supply. The internal timer stage coordinates switching sequences with external interlocks and machine controls. Cable lugs for conductors up to 95 mm² can be mounted on the output studs, allowing low-loss connections to the associated transformer or bus bars.
The inverter uses water cooling, with coolant flowing at 4 L/min through M16 × 1.5 threaded connectors. The inlet water temperature must not exceed 30 °C to maintain adequate heat transfer from the power semiconductors. The assembly has an enclosure rating of IP20 and supports recessed cabinet mounting at altitudes up to 2,000 m and ambient temperatures up to 55 °C. Secondary current can reach 54 kA when the inverter operates with a compatible PSG 3100 transformer, providing the high current required for resistance-welding loads. Its terminal blocks accommodate heavy-gauge wiring, while the enclosed coolant passages isolate the circulating water from electrical components. Flow and temperature monitoring can stop operation when cooling conditions move outside the permitted limits, helping protect the inverter from thermal overload.
