Product Description:
The PSI6200.001-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts plant-level three-phase power into a controlled medium-frequency output that drives induction heaters, hardening equipment, or other process coils used in automated manufacturing lines. By supplying programmable current at kilohertz frequencies, the unit allows precise energy delivery to workpieces, enabling adjustments to thermal profiles without mechanical changes.
This inverter operates from a three-phase supply of 400–480 VAC and modulates its H-bridge at a clock frequency of 1 kHz to shape the output waveform. During steady operation, the system delivers a nominal line current of 220 A, while peak process demands can be met with a maximum output current of 1200 A. An MOV network suppresses overvoltage events on the DC link, and a separate 24 VDC supply powers the logic circuits. Internal electronics produce a basic cabinet heat loss of 69 W, which should be considered when sizing enclosure ventilation while the water circuit is inactive. The IP20 housing protects against accidental contact with internal components. The bus terminals accept copper conductors with cross-sectional areas of up to 95 mm².
Thermal management relies on water cooling, and the heat exchanger removes up to 210 W of controller heat at a coolant flow rate of 4 L/min. This cooling arrangement keeps semiconductor junctions below their operating limits when ambient temperatures reach 55 °C. Coolant enters through an M16 × 1.5 threaded connection and must remain below 30 °C at the inlet. The circuit can remove up to 700 W of heat when the drive operates at its rated load. For installations paired with a PSG 3100 transformer, the secondary circuit can tolerate fault currents of up to 54 kA without exceeding the inverter’s short-term withstand capacity.
