The PSI6100.336-W2 is a medium-frequency inverter built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Intended for induction heating and similar automation tasks, the unit converts fixed utility power into a controlled medium-frequency output that drives resonant loads or transformers. By modulating current at a 1 kHz switching rate, it enables precise thermal profiles while keeping cabinet dimensions compact. The part interfaces with higher-level controllers over an INTERBUS timer link for synchronized production sequences.

Control electronics are supplied with 24 V DC, isolating logic from the main power stage that accepts a three-phase input of 480 – 690 VAC at 50/60 Hz. Inside the water-cooled chassis, IGBT modules shape the output so that load current can reach 400 A during peak demand while the design sustains a 110 A continuous system current. Basic cabinet losses amount to 100 W and rise to 140 W at maximum power; these figures help estimate enclosure heat dissipation relative to the available 500 W cooling budget. The switching clock balances commutation losses against harmonic content delivered to the work coil.

Enclosure sealing is rated IP20, so integration inside a protected cabinet is required. Heat is extracted through a closed loop that moves 4 l/min of process water, and outlet temperature must stay below 30 °C to keep semiconductor junctions within limits. The surrounding ambient is allowed up to 55 °C before power derating applies. A water port with an M16×1.5 thread simplifies hose connection, and terminals sized for 50 mm² line conductors with a 35 mm² wire range carry the mains input. Secondary short-circuit capacity reaches 20 kA on a PSG 3100 transformer, meeting the instantaneous current needed for high-energy heating pulses.
