Product Description:
The PSI6100.150-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for industrial automation, the unit converts fixed-frequency three-phase supply power into a controllable medium-frequency output that drives induction heaters, shrinking stations, and other energy-intensive processes. By replacing mechanical tap changers with solid-state switching, it enables precise regulation of power flow and repeatable thermal profiles on production lines. This electronic control method also supports rapid output adjustments when process demand changes.
The inverter accepts a three-phase input of 400–480 VAC at 50/60 Hz. Its IP20 enclosure protects against accidental contact, so the unit must be mounted inside a suitable cabinet. Forced air moves through the internal heat sinks, and the cooling system must dissipate up to 360 W of losses during full-load operation. The unit is assigned climatic category 3K3 according to EN 60721-3-3, which limits exposure to airborne moisture and conductive dust near the electronics. An integrated 24 V timer interface simplifies synchronization with upstream controls, while the built-in auxiliary supply delivers a stable 24 V DC rail for relays and sensors. Cabinet clearances must permit unobstructed airflow through the cooling passages to prevent excessive internal temperatures.
The auxiliary rail can supply up to 2 A, eliminating the need for an external power module in compact panels. Continuous operation is permitted within an ambient temperature range of +10 to +55 °C; operation beyond this range requires derating or additional cooling. During storage or shipment, the electronics withstand ambient temperatures from -25 to +70 °C without component damage. Cabinet airflow must be maintained during operation to keep the inverter within its thermal limits. The housing has a mass of 20 kg, which must be considered when selecting mounting hardware and cabinet supports. Adequate structural support also helps prevent movement of the inverter when the cabinet is exposed to normal machine vibration.
