The PSI6100.001-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts three-phase mains power into a high-frequency output used to drive welding transformers and other resistance-heating loads in automated tooling. By supplying regulated current in the kilohertz range, the unit enables tight control of heat input during spot-weld cycles while its auxiliary supply powers external sensors and actuators within the same control cabinet.

This inverter is water cooled, so process heat is removed through an internal channel before it reaches surrounding electronics; the design carries a protection rating of IP20, making it suitable for installation inside closed panels. It accepts a supply of 400 – 480 VAC and draws a nominal mains current of 110 A under rated load. A metal-oxide varistor array clamps line surges to protect the input stage. For control electronics and valve coils, the unit provides an integrated 24 VDC source that can deliver up to 2 A. Cooling circuits may operate at pressures up to 10 bar, allowing long hose runs without cavitation and maintaining flow through the internal heat exchanger.

A minimum coolant flow of 4 l/min keeps semiconductor junctions below their thermal limit, and the manifold shows only 0.1 bar pressure drop at that rate, so most of the pump head is available for external piping. Internally generated drive voltage is switched at 1 kHz; this frequency reduces transformer size while maintaining precise current control. When paired with a PSG 3100 welding gun, the inverter can deliver up to 20 kA secondary current for short weld pulses, while primary conductors rated for 35 mm² and 400 A handle the corresponding input demand. Cabinet dissipation remains 69 W at idle and rises to 110 W during maximum current, values that help with enclosure heat-load calculations.
