Product Description:

The NFD04.1-440-080 is a three-line filter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the NFD Mains Filters series. It is installed on the mains side of multi-axis drive cabinets to suppress high-frequency noise returning to the plant power system and to reduce disturbances coming in from the supply. By reducing differential-mode and common-mode emissions, the filter helps surrounding equipment operate without interference during rapid inverter switching. This makes it suitable for automation systems that use inverter-driven axes, where conducted noise can otherwise affect nearby controls, monitoring devices, and other sensitive electrical equipment.

Its electromagnetic performance meets Class A industrial EMC limits, which makes it suitable for nonresidential installations with dedicated power feeds. The filter is built for three-phase distribution networks, so the internal inductors and capacitors are arranged symmetrically across the incoming lines and the protective ground conductor. Nominal operation is based on 440 VAC, and the internal copper paths are rated for a continuous 80 A rms current. Under rated load, the filter dissipates only 20 W, which helps limit temperature rise inside enclosed panels and reduces the burden on cabinet cooling.

The permissible cable length between the filter and the motor drive is limited to 25 m when shielded motor cable is used, because longer runs can reduce attenuation performance. The housing has a mass of 10.3 kg, which supports stable mounting on standard backplates. This weight can usually be accommodated without special reinforcement in typical drive cabinets, while still giving the assembly enough robustness for fixed industrial installation. The unit is intended for multi-axis systems where line-side noise suppression is important for reliable operation and cleaner power distribution.
