The NFD03.1-480-250 is a three-phase mains input filter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the NFD Mains Filters series. Installed ahead of drive controllers, the unit attenuates conducted noise and limits high-frequency return currents so that multiple axes can meet electromagnetic compatibility requirements on industrial power buses. It is intended for 480 V supply segments and is paired with regenerative or non-regenerative converters to protect both upstream switchgear and downstream servomotor cabling from differential and common-mode interference typically generated by pulse-width-modulated drives.

Internally, the filter is wired for a 3-phase network and is classified as a Three-Phase Mains Filter, so all three conductors are treated symmetrically to preserve balance on the power line. It passes fundamental line cycles between 50 to 60 Hz, allowing worldwide connection without retuning the damping elements. Mechanical mounting can use positions G1–G5, although G3 and G5 must operate at no more than 80 percent of the rated current to maintain thermal clearance. The protective earth stud may be oriented Horizontal or Vertical, giving more flexibility when routing straps to the cabinet ground bar.

For installation, inverter groups that share a common DC bus may be wired through the filter with up to 120 m of cumulative multi-axis motor leads, while a single axis is limited to 75 m to keep leakage within allowable limits. The same hardware can support from 1 to 6 drive axes, making it suitable for machines of different sizes. A grounded mains supply cannot be connected directly, and an isolating transformer required note applies to prevent earth-fault currents through the filter capacitors. Dimensional offsets for tabs B, C, D, and K may be shortened by a maximum of 15 mm, allowing a more compact fit when space inside the switchboard is constrained.
