The NFD03.1-480-030 is a passive mains filter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the NFD Mains Filters series. Installed between the plant supply and drive packages, the device suppresses differential and common-mode noise so that frequency converters, servo drives, and other switching loads can meet electromagnetic compatibility limits. By reducing conducted interference, it shields sensitive control electronics and prevents disturbances from propagating back onto the utility grid in automated production lines. This helps nearby PLCs, sensors, and communication hardware operate with fewer line-borne disturbances when multiple drives switch at high frequency.

The unit accepts a nominal connection voltage of 480 VAC (+10%) and is designed for a nominal mains current of 30 A, which is also its maximum continuous load at 45 °C. The filter is built for a 3-phase network, allowing three incoming and three outgoing conductors that terminate on the internal screw terminals. Under full load, it dissipates 11.9 W as heat, which supports cabinet mounting without forced cooling when normal enclosure ventilation is provided. The housing has an IP20 rating, so the filter must be installed inside an enclosure. A vertical mounting orientation is specified to maintain natural convection paths and consistent internal spacing, and it also supports the intended airflow pattern through the housing.

Line and load terminals accept flexible wires up to 10 mm², while solid or ferruled conductors can be increased to 16 mm². The same conductor sizes apply to the equipment ground, which is secured to an M5 stud tightened to 2.2 Nm. Each of the three power poles is tightened to 2 Nm, and the assembly uses three separate terminal blocks to keep the phases clearly separated during wiring. The separated terminal layout also helps keep line and load connections distinct inside the cabinet.
