The NFD02.1-500-008 is a three-line mains filter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the NFD Mains Filters series. It is installed between the facility supply transformer and the inverter rack to reduce differential-mode and common-mode interference on the power conductors. By limiting conducted emissions, the unit helps connected servo drives meet electromagnetic compatibility limits and helps protect nearby sensors, fieldbus links, and control electronics from line-borne disturbances. This placement keeps unwanted noise from spreading farther into the cabinet power distribution path.

This filter is rated for supply networks up to 500 V AC, so its internal inductors, capacitors, and insulation clearances are suitable for standard European and North American control panels. The nominal mains current capability is 7.5 A, which suits the input demand of small single-axis converters or several low-power drives operated in parallel. It is configured for three-phase operation and must be mounted in a strictly vertical position so natural convection can move heat through the enclosure. A protection category of IP10 indicates finger-safe openings but no sealing against dust or water, so the cabinet must provide that protection. Line and protective-earth conductors connect to screw terminals sized for AWG 10 wire, which supports straightforward field wiring with commonly stocked cable sizes.

Dielectric strength and thermal endurance set the remaining application limits. For insulation verification, the windings withstand 2125 VDC line-to-line and 2800 VDC line-to-earth test potentials without breakdown, which confirms the required clearances for overvoltage category III installations. Continuous service is specified for a rated ambient temperature of 45 °C; however, the design remains functional down to -25 °C and up to +85 °C when it is derated according to the loading curves. This operating range supports use near transformers or in lightly heated enclosures where cabinet temperature can vary substantially during seasonal changes.
