The NFD01.1-500-025 is a mains filter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and supplied within the NFD Mains Filters series. The unit is installed between the facility’s incoming supply and Indramat drive controllers to attenuate conducted high-frequency noise and to prevent electromagnetic interference from propagating through the plant’s power distribution. By providing a low-impedance path for unwanted common-mode and differential-mode currents, the filter helps drive systems meet electromagnetic compatibility limits, reduces interference reaching nearby controls and measurement devices, and protects sensitive instrumentation connected to the same incoming line.
The electrical ratings align with industrial power distribution used by larger motion-control equipment. A nominal line potential of 500 V is used for the capacitors and chokes so that insertion impedance remains low while differential attenuation stays high across the working band. The filter connects to a 3-phase supply plus protective earth, and its symmetrical design keeps phase-to-phase leakage currents balanced to avoid unequal loading on the upstream source. Continuous load capability is 25 A, so a single device can feed several drives whose combined demand stays within the permitted current range during normal operation. Short production surges are accommodated by an overload tolerance of 1.5 × IN for 1 min/h, allowing temporary startup or charging currents to pass without tripping upstream protection.
The housing carries a protection rating of IP10, indicating that the enclosure blocks accidental finger contact with live parts but is intended for mounting inside a closed cabinet rather than in open plant areas. A protective earth conductor sized at ≥10 mm² must be connected to the filter’s PE terminal to provide a low-resistance return path for fault currents and to support stable dissipation of interference currents. Dielectric strength is confirmed by routine tests of 2125 VDC between lines and 2800 VDC between lines and the PE rail, values that check the insulation system against switching surges and other electrical stress during service.
